Barbora began her studies in Biomedical Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics at Comenius University in Bratislava (CU). During her master’s thesis, supervised by Dr. Igor Riečanský, she collaborated with the Department of Brain Physiology at the Institute of Normal and Pathological Physiology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS). After successfully defending her thesis, she continued her doctoral studies at this institution in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine at CU. She obtained the RNDr. title in Biology at the Faculty of Medicine, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. She was awarded a Visegrad Fund scholarship for a semester internship at the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, at Charles University. After completing her doctoral studies in Normal and Pathological Physiology, she continued her scientific work at the Institute of Normal and Pathological Physiology, SAS until present. She is also involved in teaching and research at the Center for Cognitive Science at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics at CU, as well as at the Faculty of Philosophy at Trnava University, where she teaches in the Psychology department. Her research interests primarily include cognitive and affective neuroscience, and electrophysiology.
